Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 – Movie Review

Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (YPD2) can be recognized as an unimpressive attempt by director Sangeeth Sivan basically for its script though Dharmendra as well as Sunny Deol deserves admiration for their acting aptitude in the film. Sunny has tried to impress with his ‘Dhai kilo ka haath’ with some stunning action sequence but the film fails as a whole.

YPD 2 is the official sequel of YPD (2011). However, this time the Deols have shifted their base to UK. YPD was still good, but this part is hard to digest for its long run time of 2 and half hour, the unorganized script and the failed attempt comedy sequences. The film released today.

The film begins with con-men Dharam (Dharmendra) and Gajodhar (Bobby Deol) retaining their tarnished roles in the prequel. They are on their way to fraud Sir Yograj (Annu Kapoor). Unaware that the man is neck deep in debt, Gajodhar posing as Prem woos his daughter Suman. But everything about the duo’s planning gets messed up after arrival of Sunny Deol.

The film fails despite some good bit of comedy. Dharmendra is the best in acting out of the Deols. Bobby Deol seems way less energetic than the film’s last edition. Sunny Deol plays his part with much excellence. Anu Kapoor manages to do well in the small time frame.

The two beautiful women in the film, Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva are gorgeous onscreen but still fail to impress. Neha is slightly better than Akheeva.
The problem is that the Deols are right at their place but the taste of audience has changed. So the old wine is not providing any intoxication now.

Music of the film is average. The script is a total disaster without any definite meaning. Too many sub-tales have been forced in to the main plot but finally it does not reach to any interesting note.

The film is over the top and fails to keep the audiences involved.
