Woman gangraped in Uttarakhand, Uterus Removed
TNI Bureau: Another ‘Damini’ in Uttarakhand is battling for her life in a hospital after being brutally gangraped by three men. Her uterus has been completely damaged. Despite the new anti-rape law approved by the Union Cabinet, the women are still unsafe in the country as the civilised society has failed to control the criminal tendency of men.
The heinous crime took place on Sunday. Police said that three men allegedly gangraped the 22-year-old woman in Kashipur, about 200 km from Dehradun.
Initially, the victim was admitted in critical condition to the general ward. Later, she was shifted to a private ward after the voluntary organisations intervened into the matter. The doctors treating the victim said that her condition was very critical, she had internal injuries and multiple bite marks.
All the accused have been arrested and the court remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days.
