TNI Bureau: The government’s decision to grant visa to former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandad, has sparked a massive outrage, as he is related to India’s most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Miandad will watch the third ODI between India and Pakistan in New Delhi on January 6 and and visit Ajmer Sharif.

The government defended the decision to grant visa to Miandad, saying he was not on any prohibitory list. Miandad is not only a former captain, but also served with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). But, the Shiv Sena and BJP have opposed Miandad’s visit. Congress MP Jagdambika Pal too questioned the government’s decision.

Miandad’s son Junaid is married to Mahrukh – the daughter of Dawood. Dawood is the most wanted terrorist, who is the main accused in 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case. He is reportedly hiding in Karachi, Pakistan.
