Two Tibetans self-immolate in Lhasa

TNI Bureau: Two Tibetans set themselves on fire outside the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa as part of the protests against the Chinese rule in Tibet. One of them died, while the other one survived agains the injuries.

The self-immolations took place during the holy month of Saga Dawa, in which the Tibetans celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. At least 36 Tibetans have set themselves on fire since March 2011.

Dargye from Aba County died of the burn injuries, while Tobgye Tseten from Xiahe County survived. The latter is said to be out of danger.
