Supplementary Budget presented in Odisha Assembly

imageAmid pandemonium and ruckus inside the Odisha Assembly throughout the day, Finance Minister Pradip Amat presented the supplementary budget of Rs 4,502.34 crore for the year 2014-15.

Out of the total budget outlay, Rs 2536.87 crore is earmarked for non-plan expenditure. The budget also set up a corpus fund of Rs 300 crore to compensate the investors duped by chit fund companies.

On the first day of Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly, the House was adjourned twice once at 11:15 AM and later at 12:15 PM before getting the final adjournment for the day. The Congress and BJP MLAs continued to put the government on the mat on the issue of chit fund scam.
