TNI Brueau: The modernizing initiatives taken up by the state government can be said to have been at crossroads. The same can very well be felt from this incident.
The Centre for Modernizing Government Initiatives (CMGI) takes care of the modernizing initiative of the government. In Odisha OCAC (Odisha Computer Application Centre) works in collaboration with the CMGI in this context.
Few days before, an advertisement published in a daily Odia Newspaper cited that few posts are lying vacant and one can see the detail on the website of OCAC. But after getting the advertisement, when people searched for the same on the given web address, it was not found there. ‘Despite our repeated efforts, we could not find the result online’ said Asish Senapati, an aspirant for the said job.

On the subsequent day when many people called on the given telephone number in the advertisement, no response came for a long time before a lady took the phone in the afternoon, who informed that the detail information will be available only after two days, as the same has not been uploaded so far. She said that she got the information only after consulting to the concerned official.
So, from this incident the carelessness of the CMGI can very well be felt. However, it should be noted that CMGI gets huge amount of monetary aid for this purpose.
“If the detail advt. was not even uploaded on the site, how come it was advertised in the Newspaper that one can refer the website for details “argued the job aspirants. Whether such careless attitudes are symbols of modernizing governance initiatives or simply face wash on providing such governance, they further censured.
It is really shocking to know that when the govt. is spending huge amount of money on modernization initiatives, due to negligence and carelessness of the executing company, beneficiaries are barred from availing the benefit.
