Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi might have ruled himself out of the PM race, but the Indian business leaders want to see the BJP’s poster boy as the Prime Minister of the country. According to an opinion poll published on the website of Reuters, nearly three-quarters of Indian business leaders put the blame on the government for the current economic crisis, inflation, price rise and decline of rupee against US dollar.

ModiThe survey was conducted by Nielsen between August 1 and the beginning of September and covered the chief executive officers of companies worth more than Rs. 5 billion across different industries.

According to the survey, majority of the supports went in favour of Modi. While 74 percent CEOs wanted Modi, only 7 percent backed the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for the post of Prime Minister.

The CEOs of the companies are looking forward a strong leader who can take the country forward with strong policies and actions. Due to the slow economy and no initiatives to put everything in order, the Congress is expected to struggle at the polls.

Modi has always remained the first choice for the business leaders as an investor-friendly chief minister, whose Gujarat model has been applauded by many analysts and NRIs.
