TNI Bureau: Race 2 is nothing but just an old wine new bottle experiment by the director duo Abbas and Mustan. The film is a sequel of their earlier presentation ‘Race’ in 2008. They have cleverly introduced some new babes and stunts to the story but the outcome is discouraging.
The film is a revenge thriller where most of the action sequences are executed with style. It stars Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan reprising their roles as Robert D’Costa and Ranveer Singh from the previous film. Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel are the new additions to the cast.
The story – Armaan Mallik (John Abraham) is a casino king and his step sister Elena (Deepika Padukone), helps him handle his affairs. Sexy pickpocket Omisha (Jacqueline Fernandez) is the girl friend of the Casino tycoon. Once, one of his partners (Rajesh Khattar) gets defrauded by Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Armaan makes friendship with him.
Then, when Ranvir finds a photo of his ex-girlfriend Sonia (Bipasha Basu) in Omisha’s purse, he gets interested. When he finds out that Omisha is Sonia’s sister and that Armaan is responsible for Sonia’s death, they come up with a plan to get back at Armaan. But now, Ranvir has his fruit-loving old friend Robert D’costa (Anil Kapoor) and his new sex-starved secretary Cherry (Ameesha Patel) on his team to help him.
Interestingly, the director duo always takes a script which necessitates a foreign location, especially somewhere in Europe. Of course the idea of show casing the foreign land has been smartly presented. In fact, Abbas Mustan seems much smart in telling a story of this type with Hollywood screen pile up.
The film has also cleverly inspires from the 1998 Hollywood film ‘Goodbye Lover.’
Honestly, there are very few shorts left to watch if you have seen Race, the earlier version of the film previously. Only it has got some replacements in stars. But the taste is identical with only a few twists.

Shiraz Ahmad’ screenplay does not earn any point of recognition despite the film witnesses a twist in almost every ten minutes. There are glitches like, Ranvir steals the Shroud of Turin with such ease that it seems really unrealistic.
Kiran Kotrial’s dialogues like “Dara rahi ho ya challenge kar rahi ho?”, “Flirt kar rahe ho ya tareef?” etc. are also not impressive.
Jacqueline looks real sexy. Ameesha Patel has presented herself poorly. Anil Kapoor is only good. Bipasha Basu’s role is very short. Aditya Pancholi is okay as a Godfather in some sorts.
All the lead characters in the film look beautiful. The direction is stylish with everything glossy, from actors, to properties like cars and casinos. There is not much scope for acting in the script and so simply there is no acting in the film.
Pritam’s songs mostly sound like repeated material from the previous film, but it’s good. Salim-Sulaiman’s background score is good. The special effects are substandard. Ravi Yadav’s cinematography is alright.
Yet, the stylish cast and treatment must be appreciated. If you have great interest on fast cars, sexy women, hot men and money, you will love watching this flick.
