Pyari said that his ultimate goal would be to unite the BJD workers across the state and force Naveen Patnaik and his “coterie” out of power. He has launched a massive movement to reach out to the masses and improve his image among the BJD cadres and leaders.

Pyari claimed that he enjoys the support of majority of BJD people, but they are scared to come out in open due to the oppressive attitude of the BJD high command and his machinery. Pyari also refused to accept Naveen Patnaik as the BJD President, saying the CM legally does not enjoy that status since 2010.
