Pyari gets Egg in Jharigaon, Umerkote

Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) chief Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, who has been on a whirlwind tour of KBK districts, had to face the wrath of the BJD workers in Jharigaon and Umerkote, which are considered as the stronghold of Sports & Youth Services Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi. Pyari was greeted with eggs in these areas during his rallies.

After holding a grand rally and series of meetings in Bhawanipatna and other parts of Kalahandi district, Pyari Mohapatra entered Chandahandi on the first of anniversary of the attempted coup on May 29, 2012. He held rallies in Chandahandi, Jharigaon and Umerkote, which were attended by a large number of people. Many young BJD workers also joined him.

However, in Deulakana area in Jharigaon and at DNK in Umerkote, some BJD workers shouted slogans against him and threw eggs at his cavalcade. The police had to step in to control the situation on both occasions. Despite this unpleasant situation, Pyari addressed the rallies and thanked people for their support.

Pyari slammed the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government and accused it of indulging in large-scale corruption. He urged the people to strengthen his hands overthrow the incumbent.
