Pollard decimates Sunrisers Hyderabad

An explosive unbeaten 66 from 27 balls by Kieron Pollard helped Mumbai Indians thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets and lead the points table in IPL 6. With this win, Mumbai has secured a place in the play-off along with Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Earlier, Hydrabad won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 178/3 in 20 overs, thanks to Parthiv Patel (26), Shikhar Dhawan (59), Hanuma Vihari (41) and Cameron White (43* off 23 balls). Malinga took two wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 179, Mumbai Indians were going strong, but lost Dwayne Smith (21) and Tendulkar (38 retired hurt) and Dinesh Karthik (20) after a brief start. Kieron Pollard played the cameo with 66* off 27 balls to snatch victory from the Sunrisers. He hit 2 boundaries and 8 sixes. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 20, as Mumbai reached 184/3 in 19.3 overs. Karan Sharma took two wickets. Pollard was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
