Police Brutality at POSCO Site, Women beaten Up

Naveen Patnaik’s POSCO love sees no bound. Just on the eve of the International Women’s Day, the police forces used force on the women protesters at the POSCO site and resorted to lathicharge and lobbed tear gas shells on them. At least 20 people, including many women were injured in the clashes.

The women at Gobindpur village staged a “semi-nude protest” as planned earlier to block the policemen from acquiring their land. The police exercised restraint in front of the media, but they used force on the men and women inside the jungle where media people were not present.

Earlier, hundreds of women and children marched towards the police camps and demanded their immediate withdrawal. Posco Pratirodh Sangram Samiti (PPSS) President Abhay Sahoo has slammed the government and police force for using force on innocent women.
