TNI Bureau: While Congress is claiming that the Odisha bandh was successful and observed in a peaceful manner, the ruling party BJD is not ready to admit, rather reveals the truth that how people were forced to stay at their homes fearing unwanted situation.

State Health Minister Damodar Rout alleged that the success of the bandh is not due to any positive factor by congress. People want peace and had seen the violent attitude of the party workers at the rally in Bhubaneswar on September 6.

Rout also alleged that Odisha PCC president Niranjan Patnaik had called for the bandh to protect his port folio.

Showing the reason about anti-Naveen rally on September 6, Rout and president of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) Sanjay Dasburma blamed Odisha in-charge of Congress Jagdish Tytler and demanded stringent action against him for inciting the Congress workers at the rally.

Tytler is likely to visit Odisha on September 13 who earlier had said if Odisha Government had the courage it could arrest him during his next visit to the State.

Dasburma criticized the Congress for giving the bandh call after creating a law and order problem at the rally. “Those who indulged in violence are now opposing it. People of the State will not believe the Congress,” he said.

Hence after going through all this happenings one can certainly ascertain that in the clash between the congress and BJD, it was only the common people who had to suffer for a day due to this ‘avoidable’ bandh. Also, people of the state witnessed the violent steps by the congress workers on 6th that dared to attack even police. So the probability of the allegation by Rout cannot be wholly ignored. Of course, during the rally on 6th congress workers including some big leaders also became prey of strong police action.
