TNI Bureau: A legal notice has been issued to a number of Bollywood actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra for obscene dance.

An advocate named K Jebakuma has alleged in a petition that many Bollywood stars and dignitaries had committed offences under various IPC sections while participating in the inaugural ceremony of IPL-V at YMCA grounds in Chennai on Apr 3. He describes the dance to be “obscene and lascivious, appealing to the prurient interest” in the petition.

Accordingly, Madras High Court bench in Madurai sent notice to Indian cricket board (BCCI) chief N Srinivasan along with the above mentioned celebrities of Bollywood on Wednesday, Jul 18.

The petition also included the names of Indian Premier League chairman Rajeev Shukla, American pop star Katy Perry, Australian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings member Douglas Bolinger and a Sony Set Max TV official.

The advocate complained that the performance, video clippings and photographs of such dances and “uncensored” telecast allegedly had distracted students who were taking examinations at that time.

Interestingly, the Advocate also did not spare the Chennai police, who according to him also are guilty of not taking prompt actions following the complaints lodged by the advocate.

The Court has posted the case to July 31.

However, the development has been reportedly criticized as a cheap trick by the advocate to make him popular, by the users at various online social media platforms.
