Maria Sharapova wins French Open Title

TNI Bureau: Maria Sharapova is back with a bang! The Russian player won her first-ever French Open title to complete the career Grand Slam. She defeated Italian Sara Errani 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

The 21-year-old Sara Errani, who was playing her first Grand Slam final, proved to be no match to Sharapova. The Russian completed the demolition in just 89 minutes and lifted the French Open Trophy with pride.

Sharapova had earlier won Wimbledon Open in 2004, the US Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008. She became the 10th woman in Tennis history to complete the career Grand Slam.
