Indian Women beat Pakistan to win Asia Cup T20

TNI Bureau: The Indian women defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 18 runs in a low-scoring final to lift the inaugural Asia Cup T20 in Guangzhou, China. The bowlers of both team were impressive on a pitch, which had nothing for the batswomen.

India won the toss and elected to bat. They bundled out for 81 in 20 overs. Poonam Raut (25) and Harmanpreet Kaur (20) were the top scorers. Sana Mir took four wickets, while Bismah Maroof took two wickets. Captain Mithali Raj and veteran fast bowler Jhulan Goswami did not play today.

In reply, Pakistan bowled out for 63 in 19.1 overs and lost the match by 18 runs. Bismah Maroof scored 18. Nagarajan Niranjana and Archana Das took two wickets each.
