TNI Bureau: The Chief Judicial Magistrate in Kamrup, has found 11 people guilty in connection with the sensational Guwahati molestation case of July 19, which shocked the entire nation. Four others were acquitted. Another minor, who was also arrested in this case, is being tried in a juvenile court.

The prime accused Amarjyoti Kalia is among the 11 accused who were convicted in this case. The CJM also acquitted NewsLive TV journalist Gaurav Jyoti Neog along with Hafizuddin, Diganta Basumatary and Jitumoni Deka due to lack of evidence.
Other convicted include Puspendra Das, Sikandar Basfor, Dhanraj Basfor, Nabajyoti Baruah, Nabajyoti Deka, Deepak Deb, Rubul Ali, Deba Das, Rupkanta Kalita and Ghanasyham Kumar Malik. Amarjyoti Kalia was sentenced to two years in jail along with a fine of Rs 2,000.
