Eden Curator Prabir Mukherjee goes on Sick Leave
TNI Bureau: In an dramatic development, the curator of Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Mr. Prabir Mukherjee has gone on a month-long sick leave, protesting against BCCI’s decision to go for a turning track.
Skipper MS Dhoni wanted a track that would turn from Day 1. However, curator Prabir Mukherjee, who has been preparing Eden pitches for the last 14 years, refused to accede to his demands, forcing the BCCI to take charge.
The BCCI appointed East Zone curator Ashish Bhowmik to take charge of the pitch preparations at Eden Gardens. That upset Prabir Mukherjee and he went on a sick leave just four days before the Kolkata test. He also hinted that he may quit the CAB permanently.
